During my search for the roots of the name of the Stavenow family, I found in Prignitz county in Brandenburg an endearing little village bearing that name. The people there are taking care of their residential area in an active and constructive way trying to make it a bit more cosy. At the same time, they are commited in a society the aim of which is the preservation of historical buildings and structures in Stavenow. The intentions of this personal homepage is to inform all those who are interested in the subject about the roots of the name in view of an historical background. At the same time, it is an attempt to support the efforts of the society in preserving those roots and taking care of them. This service for the members of the association will use mainly the minutes and other documents of the meetings in Stavenow and thus, will not be translated into English.
